MOUNT VERNON — The Summer Front Porch Concert Series returns on June 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. on East High Street in Mount Vernon.
This free community event will take place the third Friday of June, July, and August, transforming the East High Street neighborhood into a vibrant hub of live music and community spirit.
Music will come from various front porches on East High Street between between the 500 and 800 blocks along the road.
The June Summer Front Porch Concert Series aims to celebrate the local and regional music scene and provide a platform for both established and up-and-coming artists.

“We are excited to bring back the Summer Front Porch Concert Series, which has become a highlight of the summer season in Mount Vernon,” said Chuck Rogers, member of the Front Porch Concerts Series planning committee.
“It’s a wonderful way for the community to come together, support local artists, and enjoy the beauty and spirit of our wonderful town,” Rogers said.
In addition to enjoying the music, those in attendance can also take part in June’s Arts Theme, “Think Outside the Box,” as a viewer or participant.
Those participating in the Arts Theme are invited to build, create, and make their own personal costume strictly out of cardboard. Bring your creation to the June Front Porch Concert and share your inspiration as you walk down East High Street, entertaining the crowd.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. There will be four local food trucks at the event serving a variety of delicious options, including burgers, pasta, and Thai cuisine to cater to all tastes.

Those needing accessible parking options should park in the Synder Funeral home parking lot by entering off of Chestnut Street via Monroe Aly.
