A rendered design of the trifloria-trillium sculpture approved at Gambier’s village council meeting on Monday, June 3, 2024.

GAMBIER — A climbable flower-sculpture was approved at Monday’s council meeting.

The Trifloria-Trillium sculpture cost $16,000 and should be installed at the village’s nature play area by October, council member Morgan Giles said.

The metal structure is approximately 204 inches tall, Giles said.

The piece is thanks to Illuminera Studios.

Two slides were installed Tuesday at the community center’s nature play area for $6,000 total. Both additions to the nature play area were in thanks to the Knox County Foundation donations.

The village was also awarded a $387,000 Ohio Department of Development grant to put 17 homes on Kokosing Drive onto the village’s sanitary sewer system. The grant, Wise said, represents 80% of the engineer’s estimate to install a pressurized sewer system for that neighborhood.

Two permanent speed bumps are installed on Wiggin Street at $24,000, one at Meadow Lane and Acland House.
