BRANDON — An EF-0 tornado was confirmed near Brandon in Knox County after Wednesday night’s storm.

According to National Weather Service (NSW) Cleveland, storm damage survey determined an EF-0 tornado with estimated peak winds of 85 mph impacted Brandon, OH (Knox County) on Wednesday evening. Damage path length is 3.27 miles and the maximum path width is 80 yards.
NWS estimated the tornado was active from 8:44 p.m. to 8:56 p.m.
The Enhanced Fujita Scale or EF Scale, which became operational on February 1, 2007, is used to assign a tornado a ‘rating’ based on estimated wind speeds and related damage, according to NWS website. An EF-0 is the lowest on the scale.

Knox County EMA director J.T. DeChant said there were zero reported injuries from the storm.
Portions of the county received heavy rainfall, especially the Kokosing River.
According to United States Geological Survey, the Kokosing River reached a gage height of 6.4 feet at 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
