Marcia (Staats) McGovern passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2024, after suffering a stroke. Marcia was able to spend the last 3 days of her life back in her home on Breezy Hill Farm.

Marcia worked various jobs after moving to California in 1965, following her divorce. Marcia was a school crossing guard and the children just adored her. They brought her flowers they had picked and she would attach them to her Stop sign with rubber bands!! Marcia then started working as one of Captain Sticky’s spies!! He was a superhero fighting against evil, mainly in abusive nursing homes that his spies uncovered.

Marcia was also a Secretary for Dr. Pepper and Magnavox. Marcia’s favorite job was becoming the Secretary and Project Coordinator (or as she preferred to be called, the Tugboat Captain!!!) for DCC Compact Classics. She loved music and this was the ideal job for her. Marcia retired from this job and moved to Sacramento, CA to help take care of her wonderful grandson, Michael Giliberto (deceased). They had a beautiful and silly relationship.

Marcia’s love of music would often cause her to burst out singing whenever and wherever she felt the urge. Usually in a grocery store aisle to cause her 2 children (Molly & Mike) embarrassment in their preteen/early teen years!!! Two of her favorite songs were “Send in the Clowns” and “What a Wonderful World”.

Marcia taught her daughter and son the importance of accepting people without judgement, giving was better than receiving, always be kind to each other and most importantly, what unconditional love felt like.

Marcia loved doing crossword & word search puzzles, reading her Bible & Devotional material, watching Charles Stanley & David Jeremiah sermons on TV, music and most of all her family, friends and Breezy Hill Farm.

Marcia and her daughter Molly, were fortunate enough to move back to the farm in April 2019. Breezy Hill Farm was where Marcia grew up and has now left in peace for her eternal home. Marcia is now in the loving arms of God, her two Michaels (son & grandson) and her entire family.

Marcia is survived by her daughter and best friend, Molly (McGovern) Giliberto, nieces Dianne (Staats) Simons, Gayle Coons, Susan Staats and nephews Craig Staats, Rac Coons, Ric Coons and Vern Staats.

In keeping with Marchia’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private service at a later date.
