Evelyn A. Boubary, age 88, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Country Court Nursing Home.
She was born on June 8, 1935, to the late Ronald Earl and Bessie M. (Frasher) Morris Greer.
Evelyn graduated from Danville High School in 1953 and went to work for the Mount Vernon Telephone Co. until she started her family.
In 1961, she went to work at Jean Frocks, then Rudin’s Dept Store. Returning to the Ohio Telephone Co. in 1967 and retiring from Sprint in 1991.
She loved to embroider baby quilts, especially for the great-grandchildren until her hands gave out, and traveling with her late husband. Especially to his Army reunions.
Surviving are her loving family, son, James (Sandy) Sweet, daughters, Karen Fowler and Kandy Golden all of Mount Vernon, son-in-law, Russell Day of Reynoldsburg, grandchildren, Crystal and Kenny Snipes, April and Jason Fravel, Shad and Brittany Hagans, Carrie and Paul Green, Eric and Casey Fowler, Jamie Hamilton, Kenneth (Kip) Sweet, James Sweet Jr., Kara (Jonathan) Curry, Mary Jeannine Boubary, Holly Daniels, Katie Boubary Carr, Kelly (Eric) Wilson, Doug Vance, and Brittany Butler, 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Sharon Sweet and Roberta Day, stepfather, James A. Greer, brother, Raymond H. Morris, and loving husband of 20 yrs., Paul Boubary Sr., the father of her children, James A. Sweet, step-son, Paul Boubary Jr and his wife Cheryl Purdum Boubary Carr, son-in-laws, Tom Fowler and Bill Golden.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel. The funeral will follow the calling hours at 1:00 PM with Pastor Troy Northrop officiating. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery in Danville.
