Dennis Smith, 74, was born in Cleveland, served in the Navy, and spent his final years in Mount Vernon until his death on Saturday April 6th, 2024.

After retiring from the Postal Service Dennis was active in the Knights of Columbus.
We are saddened deeply by the untimely loss yet knew Smitty would shock us all until the day he left this earth. Traveling on his Harley, Classic Cars or RV on the open road brought him great joy.

However, those who called Him Pop-pops were his true treasures.
Katie, Kinsley, Kade, Kenadie and Kenton, Shawn, Allison, Isabella, Charlotte,
Pete, Cassandra, Gavin, Angel, Lincoln, Jeff, Katie, Kaley, McKenzie, Jameson, Jaxon.

And his beautiful bride of 51 years Barbra, will forever remain his greatest adventure!

He is survived by his brother Donald and sister Diane.

The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30p.m. on Friday April 12, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. The Rosary will be recited following the visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Saint Luke Catholic Church in Danville with Very Reverend Father Mark J. Hammond as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Luke Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the Mass at Saint Luke.
