Janet M. Thatcher, age 82, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home. She was born on August 18, 1941, in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Chace) Nidy. Janet retired from Kahrl and Company Insurance in Mount Vernon.
Janet was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, and she took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. Janet was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Randy) Butler of Wellington, Ohio, and Greg (Janet) Thatcher of Indianapolis, Indiana, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and her canine companion Dexter.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, an infant sister, and a brother, Alan Nidy.
The family will observe a private graveside service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Janet M. Thatcher.
