Martha E. Robey, age 97, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was born on January 29, 1927, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Fred and Isabel (Jones) Ewart.
Martha graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1944 and went on to receive her Nursing certification in 1948. She was a lifelong member of the Owl Creek Baptist Church near Mount Vernon. Martha worked for Dr. Henry T. Lapp in Mount Vernon, also worked for the Licking County Memorial Hospital, and as a homecare nurse, and the Ohio Eastern Star Home. She was an accomplished pianist, organist, and vocalist. Most importantly, Martha loved being around her loving family.
Martha is survived by her children, C. Daniel (Roberta) Robey, Mary Mills, Ruth (James) Frady; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ross F. Robey; grandson, Benjamin Frady; twin sister, Margaret Greer; brother, John Reed Ewart; and a son-in-law, Alan Mills.
A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 12 PM with one hour of calling from 11 AM until the start of the service at Owl Creek Baptist Church; 4044 Owl Creek Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050 with Rev. Harold Van Broekhoven officiating. Burial will follow at Owl Creek Cemetery.
