MOUNT VERNON — The week of April 1-7 is National Public Health Week. This year’s theme is “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We are all Public Health.”

For over 200 years, public health has been more than just health care. It has built communities, providing access to clean water and air, nutritious and safe foods, the right and ability to access essential health services, and strong personal relationships.

Join Knox Public Health in recognizing National Public Health Week. Each day, our social media channels will focus on a particular public health topic and identify the role each of us has in building and maintaining safe, interconnected, healthy communities for everyone.

The 2024 daily themes include:

•Civic Engagement

•Healthy Neighborhoods

•Climate Change

•New Tools and Innovations

•Reproductive and Sexual Health

•Emergency Preparedness

•Future of Public Health

When we all come together to support public health, all of us — individuals, families, communities, and the public health field — can achieve the goals of public health.
