John David Auker, age 65, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 21, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of John and Dorotha (Smith) Auker. Dave was a 1977 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and proudly owned and operated Auker Farms in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Dave attended the Gay Street United Methodist Church and Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau. Dave was a simple man that enjoyed working on his farm, driving truck, or sitting on the front porch, but most important to him was the quality time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lynette (Spezialetti) Auker, his sons, Johnny Auker and Heather Linn of Mount Vernon and their two children, John Auker and Renee Auker and Danny (Jessica) Auker of Howard, and their children, Kennedy Auker, and Mason Auker. He is also survived by two sisters, Anne Inabnitt of Brice, Ohio, and Carol (Al) Gore of Mount Vernon.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacklyn Kelli Auker.
Friends may call on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. A burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
