MOUNT VERNON — Beth Lear and David Hogan will face off in the November election for the Ohio 61st District statewide seat encompassing Knox and Delaware counties.

Lear, a Republican, won the GOP nomination for the 61st district seat, while the Democrat challenger Hogan won against Christian Smith.

Lear secured 73% of votes collected from Delaware and Knox counties, according to unofficial results from both boards of election offices. Lear’s opponent Mike Holt got 26.7%.

Hogan secured 67% while Smith had 32%.
