Janice Gayle Alexander, age 72, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, Arizona. She was born on April 6, 1951, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Emory “Trigger” and Anna (Ranson) Martin.

Jan graduated from Winfield, WV High School in 1969 and Cedarville College in Ohio in 1973 where she was a member of the Lady Stinger basketball team. Jan spent her entire adult life in Ohio and was a loyal Ohio State fan. Jan loved watching all sports, but especially watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Jan spent her Ohio winters in Sun City, Arizona for the past 7 years. While there she developed new great friendships and loved playing mini golf and pickleball. During her career she was an excellent coach, teacher, farmer, and manager at CYT in Cardington, Ohio.

Jan was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Temple and had a strong relationship with God. She is survived by her children, Brian (Noelle) Alexander of Fredericktown Oh, Bethany Alexander of Fredericktown Oh; and her precious grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer; She is also survived by her older brother Greg (Rosemary) Martin of Okeechobee, Fl and younger brother Doug (Sharon) Martin of The Villages, Fl; Additionally, she is survived by 2 nephews, Matt and Zach Martin and a niece, Julianne Martin.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 10-11 am with a funeral service starting at 11 am at the Snyder Funeral Home; 33 E. College St. Fredericktown, Ohio, 43019. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
