Lela W. Ewart, age 96, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, died on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was born on February 29, 1928, in Bladensburg, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Bertha (Rine) Harris.
Lela graduated from Bladensburg High School with the class of 1945. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Lela enjoyed tending to her garden, visiting with family and her many friends.
Lela is survived by her son, Brent (Gretchen) Woolison of Gambier; a daughter, Renee (Mick) Sharp of Fredericktown; two step-daughters, Susan (Jon) Gordon of Texas, Camellia Dickenson of Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her feline companion, Thomas O’Malley who now has a new family.
Along with her parents, Lela is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; sisters, Eileen Frost, Rosetta Wilson; a brother, Jeff Harris; and step-daughter, Roberta (Terry) Ewart.
In keeping with Lela’s wishes, there will be no services.
