Ed Piar, 63, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
He was born on May 5, 1960, in Mount Vernon to the late Donald and Caroline (Sapp) Piar.
He bravely battled Glioblastoma, showing immense strength and resilience throughout his fight against brain cancer. He was a remarkable soul whose love knew no boundaries- for his family, his friends, and the land he tended with devotion. His days were defined by laughter shared with loved ones, the bond of friendship, and the joy found in cultivating the earth. His legacy is a testament to the warmth of his heart, the strength of his bonds, and the beauty he cultivated in every life he touched.
May his spirit continue to grow in the fields he cherished and in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Vicki (Savage) Piar, his two daughters, Ellie (Corey) Cline and Natalie (Andy) Brenneman, four grandchildren, Griffin and Dawson Brenneman, Reagan and Oliver Cline, brothers, Russ (Charlene) Piar, Ray (Rani) Piar, Ken (Sara) Piar, sisters, Mary Jane (Phil) Wolfe and Donna Piar.
Visitation for Ed will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. The family will observe private services and spread his ashes.
