V. Patarica Hauger, age 95, of Hope, Rhode Island, and formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the CraMar Meadows Nursing Home in Rhode Island. She was born on March 25, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Erving and Arizona (Carpenter) LeMay. Patarica worked for many years at the Martinsburg Post Office and Knox Soil and Water Conservation.
Patarica was a member of the Martinsburg Church of Christ and Gambier Pythian Sisters. She also served as the Clay Township Clerk for twelve years.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kay Rhodes of Rhode Island, a son, Leonard (Marybeth) Hauger of Columbus, three grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene “Gene” Hauger, three brothers, Major General Curtis LeMay, Lloyd LeMay, Leonard LeMay and two sisters, Methyl Kinnear, and Velma Scherr.
The family will be holding a public graveside at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon, Ohio, is honored to serve the family of V. Patarica Hauger.
