Rodney G. “Doby” Cline, age 65, of Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Knox Community Hospital.
He was born on August 3, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Richard and Charlotte (Graves) Cline. Doby was a 1976 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He was employed at Chevrolet GMC of Mount Vernon (formerly Decosky Motors) in Inventory and Detailing. Doby enjoyed playing softball, golf, cards and bowling. He also enjoyed music and Karaoke. Doby was an avid Michigan Wolverine and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. But most of all, Doby loved the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his companion, of over 9 years, Carma Vernon; his daughter Jessica (Dustin) Cline; his son Nathan Cline; three grandchildren; his brother Rick (Edie) Cline; his sister Tammy (Chad) Flack; his nieces Tristin Douglas, Tiffany Cline; and his nephew Anthony Cline.
In keeping with Doby’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a gathering at a later date and time to be announced.
