Ruth Ann Riley, age 88, of Mansfield, Ohio and formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 8, 1935, in Danville, Ohio, the daughter of Rolland Joseph and Frances Grace (Condon) Sapp. Ruth worked in the health care industry and spent many years at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, and completing a good word search.

She is survived by her son James (Danyeal) Riley of Mansfield, six grandchildren, Amanda (Ted) Ludtman, Colton (Ashley) Riley, Clayton Riley, Dalton Riley, Jordan (Louise) Gorrell and Cameron Gorrell, five great grandchildren, a brother, Paul (Beth) Sapp of Danville, and a sister, Sarah Evans of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Sapp, Richard Sapp, Robert Sapp and Bernard Sapp, three sisters, Grace Temple, Carrie Piar and Barbara Dougherty.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, beginning at 12 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Marvin Haught will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
