Christine K. Hill, 80, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on December 6, 1943, in Jackson, Ohio and was the daughter to the late Delmer and Helen (Miller) Stiffler.
Christine worked for the postal service for over 30 years in Mount Vernon and in Jackson, Ohio. She was the first female postmaster in Mount Vernon. She had also worked at Opti Care here in Mount Vernon. Her hobbies included getting her nails done and shopping!
Christine is survived by her loving husband, Rodger Hill, her two step-sons, Douglas (Lisa) Hill and Lance (Teri) Hill, a sister, Donna Hammerstein, grandchildren, Logan (Natalie) Hill, Nathan Hill, Josh Hogg, a great-granddaughter, Vera Hill; nephews, Robert, David, and Mike Hammerstein, niece Jennifer (David) Shipley, sister-in-law, Carol (Denny) Sirbaugh, great-nephew, Chase Sankovich and great-niece, Cloe Sankovich, her caregiver and special friend, Amanda (Kevin) Cherup; along with her beloved cat, Bob.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Delmer, Jerry, and Fred Stiffler.
Christine will miss her good friends at Fiesta Mexicana, Oscar, and Maria.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 – 1:00 PM in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
