Joe L. Hathaway, age 68, of Fredericktown passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Knox Community Hospital.
He was born on December 3, 1955, in Mount Vernon to the late Donald and Doris (Wilkin) Hathaway. Joe was a 1974 graduate of Fredericktown High School and was a past member of FFA in Fredericktown. Joe retired from FT Precision after many years of service. He was a farmer and enjoyed consignment auctions, raising chickens, cows and pigs. He also enjoyed gardening. Joe attended Storyside Church in Bellville. But most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife, of over 40 years, Melisa Ann (Litteral) Hathaway; his daughter Jacqueline Hathaway; his sons, Jesse Hathaway, Jared (Angel Coil) Hathaway; his sister Joyce (David) Kroninger; his sister-in-law Rhonda (Dave) Yommer; his brother-in-law Doug Litteral; his nieces, Krista (Josiah) Miller, Kayla (Robbie Boberg) Kroninger, Mallory (Logan) Newkirk, Madison (Joshua) Corbett; his nephew Phillip Yommer; and his canine companions Remington, Rosey, and Diamond.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his infant sister Nancy Lou Hathaway.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 3-5PM A service will follow, beginning at 5PM with Pastor Micah Pelkey officiating.
