Floyd A. Murphy Jr., 70, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born on August 11, 1953, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Floyd A. Murphy Sr. and Marjorie (Henderson) Murphy.
Floyd retired from Ariel Corporation in 2018 after 17 years with the company.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (Morrow) Murphy, a son, Curtis S. (Bridget) Murphy, two step-children, Kevin Stull and Teresa (Richard Boling) Patrick, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Chris (Lori) Murphy.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Murphy and a sister, Stephanie Woodring.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11:00AM -1:00PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. Where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
