Thomas V. Lepley, age 78, of Gambier, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 2, 1945, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Virgil and Marvel (Morrison) Lepley. Tom retired in 2013 after 43 faithful years at Kenyon College.

Tom was a member of Mount Zion Lodge #9 and South Vernon United Methodist Church. He also sat on the board of the Quarry Chapel Building Fund. For many years Tom has played the role of Santa for kids all over Knox County, as he served in the Mount Vernon and Gambier parades.

Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many people. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Whether it was a reunion, sporting event or doing daily chores, he had the best times being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley (Facemyer) Lepley, his children, Kevin (Joely) Lepley of Fredericktown, Kyle (Sharon) Lepley of Howard and Kurt (Kim) Lepley of Gambier, his grandchildren, Kirsti (Zach) Snyder, Kamron Lepley, Samatha (Paul) Gray, Cora Lepley and Dash Lepley, great grandchildren, Nora Snyder, Killian Snyder, Eva Gray and Hailey Gray, two brothers, Jack (Jean) Lepley of Heath, James Lepley of Mount Vernon, and a sister, Christine Crouch of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Ridenbaugh.

Friends may call on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral will be held on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Bob Alexander will be officiating. Burial will follow in Quarry Chapel Cemetery.
