Linda M. Caldwell, 81, of Sturgis, MI (formerly of Mount Vernon) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2024 in Elkhart, IN. She was born on October 8, 1942 to Henry and Opal (Smith) Wiley in Jerusalem, OH. Linda was a member of the Church of Christ and was baptized on June 23, 1955 at Ashland, OH.
Linda worked many jobs throughout her life, she was probably best known for managing Lin’s Drive in and Country Store in Amity, OH. Linda didn’t know a stranger and befriended everyone she met, as well as, everyone welcomed her beautiful kindred heart and enjoyed getting to know her. She was the most loving mother whom after retiring kept busy with all her creative activities. She enjoyed planting and working large gardens, canning her bounty she had grown, making beautiful flower beds around her farm. Crafting unique projects from all different materials. Sewing many items for her loved ones, from baby quilts, pillows, wedding dresses, grandchildren clothing and Halloween costumes. She loved baking birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends. In her down time she enjoyed working puzzles of all kinds big or small. Linda was best known throughout the family for her holiday feast and getting her loved ones together. She was always looking to find the fountain of youth through her herbs and supplements. Mommy was a pistol, she loved her family whole heartedly and will be missed by all.
Linda is survived by her children Joseph (Marsha) Caldwell of Constantine, MI, Angela Harris of Newark, OH, Myra (Jason) Shellenbarger of Mount Vernon, OH, Lynnette (Vernon) Snoddy of Hayesville, OH, Todd Caldwell of Sturgis, MI; grandchildren Joseph (Trish) II Caldwell, Jennifer (Cliff) Bright, Joshua (Lelia) Caldwell, Jeremiah (Ceairra) Caldwell, Shannon (Jennifer) Pearson, Sabrina (Sidney) Lawrence, Sheyenne Shellenbarger, Tameika and Tyeisha Harris, Tyler and Trevor Snoddy; great grandchildren Cyrah, Blake, Dane, Sha’Niah, A’zaiah, K’Miah, Ananda, Adrianna, Landon, Loran, Issac, Easton, Irelynn; a brother Daniel (Ruth Ann) Wiley of Burbank, OH and many extended family members.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Issac Martin Caldwell who she married on October 25, 1958 in Ashland, OH, sisters La Fonda Foster, Arlyce Russ, brothers James Wiley, Donald Wiley, Lloyd Wiley a great granddaughter Ja’nazaiah Marie Harris (Nae Nae) and special fur baby Bella.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Snyder Funeral Home ~ Lindsey Chapel, 123 N. Market Street, Loudonville, OH 44842. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00pm, with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery, 523 W Main St, Ashland, OH 44805.
