Elizabeth W. Parnell, a cherished soul beloved by all who knew her, departed from this world on January 3rd, 2024, surrounded by her family, just two days before her anticipated centennial birthday. Born on January 5th, 1924, her life was a testament to warmth, love, and unwavering resilience.

Elizabeth’s zest for life was undeniable, evident in her passions and the joy she found in simple pleasures. Golf held a special place in her heart, and the greens of Hiawatha Running Waters golf course were witness to her love for the sport. Her skill and enthusiasm on the course were matched only by the camaraderie she fostered with fellow enthusiasts.

A proud veteran, Elizabeth dedicated two meaningful years of her life to serving in the Navy. Her commitment to duty and her country left an indelible mark on her character, embodying values of service, honor, and sacrifice.

Yet amidst her passions, her greatest treasure was undeniably her cherished moments with friends and family. Her warmth, kindness, and boundless love created a haven of joy and support for those fortunate enough to share her life. Her gatherings were marked by laughter, stories, and an abundance of love that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her.

Though she has departed this world, Elizabeth’s legacy of love, resilience, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will remain a beacon of inspiration, reminding us to cherish every moment, embrace life’s adventures, and above all, treasure the bonds of love and family.

She is survived by her Nieces Jenifer (Joe) Curran, Jessica Dexter, Deborah(Gerald) Wyle; Nephews Thomas(Karen)Bumpus, Allen(Melissa) Dexter, Stephen(Bev) Dexter, John(Martha)Bumpus; And many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Emory and Ethel Wright; Sisters Evelyn Gantt, Emogene Bumpus, Elaine Walker; Nephew Robert Bumpus.

The family will be having a graveside service Friday January 12th, at 12:00 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial gardens.
