Marilyn Jo Darling, age 74, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on May 22, 1949, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of Merrill and Helen (Baker) Harmon. Jo previously worked as a bus driver for East Knox schools, food service for Kenyon College and retired as manager of Sears Optical in Mount Vernon.
Jo enjoyed trapshooting with her husband, helping with her children’s 4-H activities, as well as helping them take care of and raise sheep for competitive shows. She was also an avid reader with one of her favorite authors being Dana Fuller Ross. Jo’s family will always remember her as being a great cook.
She is survived by her husband Zane Darling, whom she married on June 13, 1965, her children, Jeanne (Mike) Hogg of Bozeman, Montana, and Troy (Robbin) Darling of Mount Vernon, grandchildren, Joel Hogg, Jared Hogg, Kellie Darling, Justin Lang and Morgan Lang, great grandchildren, Sophia, Kingston, Rosalynn, and a brother, Jerry (Karen) Harmon of Dayton.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will observe a private service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Marilyn Jo Darling.
