Milded E. Litt, age 97, of Fredericktown passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born on January 28, 1926, in Anna, Texas to the late Ernest and Virgie (Fults) Gilbert. Mildred was a member of the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flower beds, crocheting and sewing. Mildred had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family and close friends.
She is survived by her daughter Dalene (Duke) Carpenter; her son Terry (Liz) Litt; her grandchildren, Chad (Erin) Carpenter, Jason (Amber) Litt, Dawn (Christian) Toombs, Stacy (Josh) McFadden; thirteen great grandchildren; her brother Max Gilbert; and her sisters Bobbie (Jim) West and Patsy Cantelou.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Litt; her son and daughter-in-law Edward (Cathie) Litt; and her sister Helen Sanders.
Friends may call on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren from 11-12pm. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 12pm, with Pastor Charles Barnhill and Pastor Mike Stine officiating. Burial will take place in Owl Creek Church Cemetery.
