Beverly Edwards, 90, of Fredericktown passed away on Saturday afternoon, December 16, 2023 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born on August 29, 1933 in Fredericktown to the late William and Isabell (Morrison) Darling.
Bev was a devoted member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Fredericktown, a 77-year member of the Wayne Grange where she is currently the Master, the Pythian Sisters, the Nature Lovers Garden Club, Tuesday morning bowling league, and the Fredericktown Senior Citizens. She was one of the founders of the Porkette Sandwich. She retired from the Fredericktown Schools where Bev was the Head Cook at the Middle School. She served many banquets over the years including the yearly Knox County Trustees banquet. Bev will be remembered for having a strong will and being a very independent lady.
Bev is survived by her daughter, Candace (David) Crawford of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Wendi (Nick) Woodell, Jodi (Brandon) Frazee, Chasity Curry, Liberty (Bobby) Curry, Rebecca (Jarrod) Crawford, Megan Bolden and Katie Ball; great grandchildren, Riley and Eleni Woodell, Brayden Lewis, Dallys Fincher, Macyn Frazee, Trinity and Nathan Garrettson, Sierra Rine, Sadie and Skylar Watson, Haylee and Wyatt Cunningham, Marlie, Alaina, and Callie Potts, Madison and Kierra Swick, and Tiona Ovér; and a sister, Patricia Wells of Mansfield.
In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, Phillip David “Skip” Edwards on July 4, 2021; grandson, David L. Crawford; brothers, Glen and Laurel “Mutt” Morrison.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Cornerstone Community Church, 123 Columbus Rd., Fredericktown where a funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, December 22, 2023 with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Bev will be laid to rest beside her husband, Skip in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown.
