Joseph W. Hawkins Jr. age 81, of Mount Vernon passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.
He was born on January 28, 1942, in Wise County, Virginia to the late Joseph and Virginia (Adams) Hawkins Sr.
Joseph is survived by his son Joseph (Karen Wellborn) Hawkins; three grandchildren, Katrina Hall, Jenni Hawkins, Rehbeka Hawkins; and a great grandson Joseph Dreasler.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Paula Hawkins; his brothers Robert and Preston Hawkins; and his sister Suzie Hawkins.
In keeping with Joseph’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service at a later date.
