Marjorie J. Zuercher, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023, following an extended illness. Marge was born on June 12, 1941 to the late Frank G. and Edna Wade. She graduated from Van Wert High School in 1959 and the Fort Wayne School of Business a year later.

In 1961, Marge married her high school sweetheart, Ted Zuercher, and served faithfully as a pastor’s wife until God called them both to be full-time missionaries to the Republic of South Africa in 1975. In 1984, they returned home to the United States, and Marge continued a life of loving service: first as a daycare worker, then as an in-home caregiver and then as a nurse’s aide, caring for the elderly. She was known for her sweet and gentle nature, one who put others before herself and one who would help in whatever capacity necessary.

Marge’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings of all kinds, attended many of her grandkids’ sporting events and band concerts and especially delighted in the family trips to the beach.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jay Michael Zuercher and her husband of 30 years, Ted Zuercher. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lisa (Michael) Moreland of Danville, Ohio, Christopher (Teresa) Zuercher of Akron, Ohio and Joy (Kevin) Kettering of North Canton, Ohio and her grandchildren, Rob Moreland, Mark Moreland, Leo and Linna Kettering.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 1:00pm at the Laseter Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. Calling hours will be two hours prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A brief burial service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Tomlinson Cemetery in Mercer County, Ohio.
