MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office recognized two deputies who have been selected by their peers.

The Patrol Division Deputy of the Year is Sgt. David Devolld. He began his career with the sheriff’s office in 1999 and was promoted to sergeant in 2015.

Devolld currently serves as a day shift supervisor.

“Sgt. Devolld has over 24 years of law enforcement experience and has helped fill multiple roles within the agency,” Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer said.

The Jail Division Deputy of the Year is Sgt. Jeremy Talbott. He began his career with the sheriff’s office in 2019 and was promoted to sergeant in 2021.

Talbott currently serves as an afternoon supervisor.

“Even though Sgt. Talbott is one of our newer supervisors, he assists with training and oversees one of our most active shifts,” Shaffer said.
