William “Bill” Conway, 62, died Friday, December 1, 2024 at his residence.
He was born January 21, 1961 in Mount Vernon to the late Conard Joseph “Dude” Conway and Rita Augustine (Zuccaro) Conway.
Bill will always be remembered for his huge heart and his sense of humor. He’s was a very kind hearted father & wanted his kids to be successful in life. He loved his family and was known to have survived growing up as the only son with seven sisters He was an exceptional athlete. He could bring a smile to anyone he met, and you definitely did not want to sit beside him if you needed to keep a straight face and not laugh! Bill served in the U.S. Army and was a life member at the Mt. Vernon Amvets.
Bill is survived by and will be dearly missed by his daughters, Laura Conway of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Hollie Clellan of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren Journey Johnson, Kash Francis, Alissa, Alicia, Chloe and Ciara; and a great grandson Jeramiah. Bill’s sisters, Gina Spearman of Howard, Ohio, Colleen (Timothy) Duffey of Columbus, Ohio, Pat (William) Fulcher of Columbus, Ohio, Kelley Watson of Gambier, Ohio, Cathy McCarter of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Therese McGowan of Howard, Ohio, and Nancy Fitzsimmons of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, along with many nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Allison Clellan.
A private service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Knox County Humane Society, in the memory of his favorite dog Elmer.
