Leroy Edmund “Ed” Hess, age 75, of Danville passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon.

He was born on February 11, 1948, in Mount Vernon to the late Cloyce and Garnet (Sapp) Hess. He was employed at MCI (Motor Coach Industries) formerly Flxible Corp. for over 38 years from which he retired. Ed was a member of Amvets Post #95 in Mount Vernon and was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, scrimshaw and engraving. He was well known as an excellent welder. But most of all, Ed loved his animals and spending his time with family and close friends.

He is survived by his wife, of over 33 years, Georgia (Davis) Hess; his sons, Kane Hess, Able (Michelle) Hess, Gary Bradley; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his sisters, Kay (Mike) Sigman, Sharon (Steven) Gerber; his brothers, Keith (Carol) Hess, Jim (Denise) Hess; and his canine companion Peppy.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother Bill Hess; and his yellow lab Sky.

In keeping with Ed’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private gathering at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Marine Corps. Toys for Tots; St. Jude’s Research Hospital; or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
