Raymond Oscar Besst, age 75, of Fredericktown, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home.

He was born on June 19, 1948, in Mount Vernon to the late Oscar and Helen (Kobel) Besst. Raymond was a 1966 graduate of Fredericktown High School and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed pulling his draft horses. But most of all he loved the time he spent with family and close friends.

Raymond is survived by his son Roger Besst; his nieces, Nancy Schlairet, Penny Schlairet, Pam Schlairet, Karla (Mike) Stoltz Carpenter; and his nephews, Gary Schlairet and Ronnie Schlairet.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Donna Besst; and four sisters, Irene Besst, Pauline Schlairet, Maxine Stoltz, and Nora Jean Besst.

Friends may call on Tuesday at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 4-6pm. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
