A favorite of so many, Bruce D. Fithian, Architect, 69, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 after a diagnosis of a devastating illness.

Bruce was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, class of 1972 and received his master’s degree from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio in 1978, one of few graduates who worked in their profession throughout their career.

Bruce worked as a partner at Schreiber, Little & Associates in Springfield Ohio before moving to Columbus, where he was President for Design Collective Architecture, Inc., Director of Design & Construction for Store Planning at Limited Brands, and Studio Manager for Shremshock Associates, from which he retired in 2020.

An avid reader, Bruce was talented in many ways artistically as demonstrated in his woodworking, illustrations and photography skills.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin J. Jr. and Minxie S. Fithian. Survived by wife, Sandra, daughter Chelsea (Brian) Fuller, son Benjamin (Kristen), their mother Sherre Jackson, stepson Terry Jeff, and five glorious grandchildren, Owen, Gabrielle, Aubrey, Colin, and Olivia; siblings Michael (Joan), and Catherine Fithian. A nephew, niece and many in-laws, friends, coworkers, and clients.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd., in Mount Vernon. With a reception following in the funeral home’s community room. Cremation has occurred, and entombment will take place privately in Woodland Cemetery, Grove City Pennsylvania. Donations may be made to the Grove City, Pennsylvania Historical Society, or LifePoint Church, Mount Vernon.
