Jesse Gano Conkle, age 82, of Howard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 15, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Otto and Pearl (Ridenbaugh) Conkle.

Jesse worked in the ink house at Continental Can before retiring from Save-A-Lot where he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, former member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge and Eagles of Mount Vernon. Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a big fan of the Ohio State University Buckeyes.

He is survived by his children, Deborah (Dan) Woodford of Howard, Joe Conkle of Mount Vernon, and Jamie (Tina) Conkle of Mount Vernon, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Victor (Pam) Conkle of Mount Vernon, Rod (Barbara) Conkle of Melbourne, Florida, and a sister, Shirley Weekley of Heath.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean (Vance) Conkle, a daughter, Jessica Nicole Conkle, and a grandson, Gabriel Paazig.

A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Deacon Tim Birie will be a Celebrant. The family will observe a private burial in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
