Dorothy Mae Hutchens Bolender, 92, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on September 28, 1931 in Cincinnati to the late Cornelius and Mildred (Bogan) Hutchens.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Leon Bolender whom she married on August 1, 1952; son, Ronald Bolender; grandsons, Chadwyck (Jennifer) Bolender and Eric Chase Bolender; great granddaughters, Imogen, Tammy, Charlotte, and Madeline Bolender; sister, Evelyn Hutchens; brother, Kenneth Hutchens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Hutchens; brothers, Michael, Donald, Richard, and Ernest Hutchens; and a daughter-in-law, Tamara (Provance) Bolender.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon with Pastor Thom Fowler officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in Williamsburg Cemetery, 824 Gay St., Williamsburg, Ohio with Pastor Rick Fiste.
