MOUNT VERNON – Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found 27 people guilty after hearings and court trials were conducted this week at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

These were the cases brought forward by the Mount Vernon Law Director Rob Broeren’s Office.

Aug. 28

Cecelia O’Sullivan, 19, of Gambier, was found guilty of possessing or consuming alcohol under the age of 21 and obstructing official business.

John Welch, 67, of Howard, was found guilty of disturbing, destroying or possessing eggs of migratory game birds.

Colton Stiltner, 19, of Sunbury, was found guilty of disorderly conduct.

Matt Reppart, 48, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of failure to disclose personal info.

Breven Scroggins, 26, of Howard, was found guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Maxwell Oyer, 26, of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of having physical control of a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse.

Justin Stachler, 37, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or a drug of abuse and failure to use reasonable control.

Ava Springer, 18, of Belville, was found guilty of driving under suspension and failure to yield the right-of-way while turning left.

Assistant Law Director Steve Potts prosecuted the Scroggins, Stiltner, and Reppart cases on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown and Gambier.

First Assistant Law Director Brittany Whitney prosecuted all other cases on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown and Gambier.

Aug. 29

Shawn Zinn, 51, of Malvern, was found guilty of theft by deception.

Marilyn Chalfant, 53, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of speeding.

Tanner Plichta, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of disorderly conduct.

Leanna Davis, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of failure to confine a dog.

Floyd Ernsberger, 61, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of criminal trespassing.

Nickolas Cutlip, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of driving under suspension.

Connor French, 20, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of speeding in a school zone.

William Bentley, 53, of Mount Vernon was found guilty of driving under suspension.

Law Director Rob Broeren prosecuted these cases on behalf of the City of Mount
Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown and
Gambier.

Aug. 30

Thomas McCusker, 36, of Copley, was found guilty of possession of marihuana
paraphernalia.

Thomas Evans, 57, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of six counts of failure to confine a dog.

William Fuller, 41, of Gambier, was found guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Laura Trueb, 68, of Howard, was found guilty of failure to control.

Christine Lawson, 33, of Utica, was found guilty of failure to stop at a stop sign.

Emanuel Cruz, 33, of Danville, was found guilty of failure to stop at a stop sign.

Sept. 1

Joshua Annis, 29, of Centerburg, was found guilty of failure to confine a dog.

Raymond Williams, 53, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of violation of a protection order.

Aron Boyd, 25, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Rayshawn Rankin, 29, of Westerville, was found guilty of driving under suspension.

Michael Corday, 52, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of driving under suspension.

First Assistant Law Director Brittany Whitney prosecuted the Williams case on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon.

Assistant Law Director Steve Potts prosecuted these cases on behalf of the City of Mount Vernon, the State of Ohio, and the Villages of Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown and Gambier.
