MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Sheriff’s deputies filed these reports after their respective shifts.
Aug. 7
— Around 2 a.m., a Deputy was on patrol in Centerburg when he observed a vehicle with a registration violation. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have a felony warrant out of Delaware County. The driver was arrested and released into the custody of Delaware County.
Aug. 6
— A deputy was responding to Brandon on a report of a black SUV doing donuts in a church parking lot. While traveling west on Sycamore Rd. near Possum St., a black SUV with one headlight was observed traveling eastbound. The Deputy turned around in attempt to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The fleeing SUV crossed over Granville Rd. then turned off its headlights still traveling at a high rate of speed. Near the intersection of Sharp Rd. the SUV lost control then crashed into an electric pole. There were four juvenile occupants inside the vehicle and suffered from minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for OVI and consuming alcohol while under the age of 21 as well as other traffic offenses. The juvenile was transported to the Muskingum County Juvenile Correction facility.

Aug. 5
— A female called to report that her ex-boyfriend punched the touch screen in her vehicle which broke the screen.
— Deputies were dispatched to Killduff road on a disturbance. Complainant stated that she needed deputies there now. Once on scene deputies interviewed all parties and decided to separate the parties for the night. After getting everyones information deputies determined a female that was at the residence was in violation of a protection order and was placed into custody. The female was transported to the Knox county jail. Nothing further at this time.
— The complainant called the Sheriffs Office to report that he had been shoved by another male at the residence and wanted an Officer to speak to the other male.
— The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was contacted in by the parents of a juvenile claiming that the juvenile had been asked to send obscene images from an unknown individual. A report was taken and forwarded to investigations.
— Complainant advised that in 2020 a bank account was opened in her daughter’s name, a check was then deposited and the funds withdrawn. The check was fake, leaving the account overdrawn. A report was made for documentation and investigation.
