Dennis R. Conner, 75, passed away May 29, 2023, at The Good Shepherd Nursing Facility in Ashland, Ohio, after an extended illness. He was born July 19, 1947. For over 35 years, He had been owner of Leonard’s Market in Mount Vernon, at one time with his wife, Donna and his 3 stepsons. He had also worked as a driver for MOTA and New Hope Industries. He had also raised and trained Saint Bernards and Newfoundland dogs with his first wife, Helen. Dennis had been a past member of The Dan Emmett Kennel Club and The Moose and Eagles Lodges.
Dennis is survived by his stepsons Donald (Tracy) Blanton of Bladensburg, Daniel Blanton of Grove City, and Dennis Blanton of Mount Vernon. Also surviving are his four granddaughters, grandson, and several great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; second wife, Donna; and a brother, Michael.
Following his wishes, Dennis was cremated and his ashes interred with his wife, Donna. There will be a graveside memorial on Monday, August 7th, at Mound View Cemetery at 11:00am.
