MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Sheriff’s deputies filed these reports after their respective shifts.
JULY 26
— Caller stated a semi attempted to make a left hand turn and got stuck, blocking the roadway. After several attempts, the semi was pulled out of the ditch by a wrecker. A report is being done for documentation.
— Deputies were dispatched to the area of the Riley Chapel canoe access where a small juvenile was located unsupervised. The juvenile’s parents were located and the juvenile was returned to their care. A report was forwarded to Children Service’s for an investigation.
— Deputies were dispatched to Millersburg Rd in reference to a vehicle crash involving a deer. Upon arrival I located the injured deer. The injured deer was dispatched using one round from my service weapon. A deer carcass receipt was given to the accident driver. A report was taken for documentation.
— Deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a non-injury crash on Fairgrounds Road. A report was completed for documentation.
JULY 27
— A citizen located a debit card belonging to another individual at the Knox County Fair. The citizen brought the card to the Sheriff’s Office. The owner of the card was contacted and they advised they would pick up the card on 7/28/23. The card was placed into evidence at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

— A deputy served a warrant in Danville. A male was arrested and taken to the Knox County jail.
— A Centerburg resident called the Sheriff’s Office to report vandalism to his mailbox.
— A complainant advised a suspect went into the store in Howard and stole merchandise. A report was taken on the complainants behalf.
JULY 28
— Deputies responded to an address on Laybelle Dr in reference to a resident that had left the residential facility. Deputies searched the area and was later contacted that the resident had returned. A report was completed for documentation.
