Cristia Jeane Small, age 66, of Gambier, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Cristia was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. She supported her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Cristia will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was born on April 5, 1957, in Mount Vernon and was the daughter to the late Fred and Lou (Gorsuch) Cornet.
Cristia was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing Pickleball, shopping with family and friends, and spending time at her home in The Villages, Florida.
She is survived by her two children, Tiffany (Tom) Burke of Mount Vernon and Michael (Mindy) Small of Saint Cloud, Florida; grandchildren, Bradyn Burke, Alex Small, Gavin (Amanda) Burke, Amber Small; a sister, Cathy (Joe) Conkling of Mount Vernon; four step-children, Skyler Abbott, Zachary Lumley; mother–in-law and father-in-law, William and Carole Small; many nieces and nephews, and her special canine companions, Lola and Louie.
Cristia was preceded in death by the love of her life for over 49 years, her husband, Michael W. Small.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road. Where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM.
