Lolita Rose Alexander, age 97, of Mount Vernon passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Altercare Nursing Home in Zanesville.
She was born on August 1, 1925, in Mount Pleasant, Ohio to the late Walter and Zuma (Heestand) Reichenbach. Rose was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts. She was an amazing self-employed seamstress and worked at Olson’s Lamp Shop in Mount Vernon and also Isaly’s Ice Cream. She enjoyed photography and was an amazing photographer. She was a member of the Pine Street Church of God and also attended the South Zanesville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Charlie (Michelle) Alexander, Lawrence Alexander, Thomas (Jacquelyn) Alexander; her daughter Kathryn (Charles) Bube; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband Charlie “Buster” Alexander; her granddaughter Rebecca Alexander; her brothers Howard and Glenn Reichenbach; her sister Ruth Davis; and her daughters-in-law Kim Alexander and Catherine Alexander.
Friends may call on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St. Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, from 11am – 1pm. A service will follow, beginning at 1pm, with Pastor Dan Oakes officiating. Burial will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
