MOUNT VERNON — According to the American Cancer Society, a cancer survivor is “anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer no matter where they are in the course of their disease.
“We invite the community to attend the Cancer Survivor Event on Thursday, June 29,” Knox Community Hospital announced in a press release.
This free event will be held at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre community room; doors open for registration at 5:30 p.m., with the program and speakers beginning at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
This year’s event theme is “Hats off to Cancer Survivors.” Guest speakers will share their cancer experiences/insights, and Mount Vernon Mayor Matt Starr’s proclamation will kick off the event.
Seating is open to the general public; survivors are invited to bring two additional guests. An RSVP is required. There will be valet parking for cancer survivors and heavy appetizers to enjoy.
Join us for this special evening to celebrate cancer awareness, prevention, and survivorship!
