Michael S. Tier, 73, of Howard, OH passed away on June 4, 2023 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1950 to Charles and Marjorie (Phillips) Tier in Mount Vernon, OH.
Michael was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling and golf. Michael played football and baseball in school. He then played softball as an adult for a short time. He loved drag racing. He was a driver for many years at the dragstrip.
Michael is survived by his wife of 55 years Cathy (McMillan) Tier; a daughter Julie (Trent) Long of Butler, OH; a grandson Ryan (Jamee Fraser) Long of Galion, OH; a brother David Tier of Warner Robins, GA; a sister Sharon Short of Mansfiled, OH; a brother in law Brian McMillan of Tampa, FL; a sister in law Cris Attaway of New Smyrna Beach, FL; nephews Charles Young of Butler, OH and John Attaway of New Smyrna Beach, FL; nieces Rosemary Young of Mansfield, OH and Angie Tier of Mansfield, OH.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law Jeffrey McMillan.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, June 9, 2023 at Snyder Funeral Home ~ Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 at 1:00pm.
