Lions Club brings circus to Centerburg

CENTERBURG — The Centerburg Lions Club is bringing the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus to Centerburg on Tuesday, May 16. The circus will set up at the Centerburg Elementary School grounds located at 207 S. Preston St.

Shows are at 5 and 7:30 pm. C&M Circus is a one-ring, big-top circus that has provided local family entertainment for 37 years.

Circus Day schedule on Tuesday, May 16:

•9:30 am – Tent Raising & tour. Everyone is invited to watch the Big Top rise! You’ll also get a chance to tour the grounds and get a behind-the-scenes look at the show. Learn about life on the road and the care the animals receive.

•4:00 pm – Midway opens. Pony rides, Moon Bounce, Giant Slide, face painting, concession stand, and box office open up for some extra fun!

•5 & 7:30 pm – circus performance. Get ready for an amazing show the whole family will love! Each show lasts about 90 minutes.

The 2023 performance features Big Cats presented by Trey Key, aerialist extraordinaire Simone on the trapeze, 10th-generation Loyal Bareback Horse Riders, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the tight rope, and Wheel of Destiny, Elizabeth Ayala’s incredible foot juggling and hair hang. Plus, everyone’s favorite circus clown, Leo Acton.

Advance tickets prices on sale until May 15 at 6 pm:

•Child (2-12) $8

•Senior (65+) $8

Advance tickets can be purchased BEFORE Circus Day from these locations, all on Main Street in Centerburg:

Box office tickets go on sale at the circus grounds starting one hour before each show.
