Richard Dean Simpson Jr., 58 of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. He was born on February 18, 1965, to Richard and Donna (Davis) Simpson Sr. in Mount Vernon, OH.
Rich “Ole Red Eye” worked at FT Precision in Fredericktown, OH. He enjoyed drinking beer while working on his lawnmower, playing darts, pool and corn hole. Rich was a big Buckeyes fan. He loved spending time outside with his family.
Richard is survived by his wife Connie (Hubbard) Simpson; sons Adam (Brooke) Simpson of Mansfield, OH and Aaron (Katie) Flecknoe of Mount Vernon, OH; grandchildren Dallas Flecknoe and Brianna Flecknoe both of Mount Vernon, OH; siblings Dixie (Steve) Bemiller, Donna Simpson (Bill Stumbaugh), John (Pam) Simpson, Regina Cotton, Bill Ott, Cheryl Mizer; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carolyn Ott.
Calling hours will be May 3, 2023, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the Dowds – Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A funeral service will take place at the Funeral Home at 1:00pm with a graveside service to follow at Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg, OH.
