DANVILLE — Danville FFA competed in the Area 3 Envirothon on Wednesday. Envirothon is hosted by Soil and Water Conservation Districts across the state.
Knox County is part of Area 3 in the conservation districts. At envirothon, members answer questions over their knowledge of aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and a current environmental issue.
There are 16 counties in Area 3, and any school in those counties can send up to four teams to envirothon.
Danville had two teams at the contest.
Team 1 consisted of Ike Ball, Caden Hammons, Hunter Hanners, Billy Hood, and Ethan Swendal. Team 1 placed 22nd overall and 6th out of the 9 Knox County teams.
Team 2 was made up of Catlin Ball, Bryer Boeshart, Kendall Carter, Cody Ricketts, and Alayna Wittel. Team 2 placed 11th overall and first out of the Knox County teams.
For most of the members, this was their first time competing in Envirothon.
