Margaret Mary Allar, Molly to all those who knew and loved her, passed away on April 10, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Allar, cherished son, Karl Schmidt, and step children Tom Allar and Jodi Hamblin; siblings James (Cheryl), Thomas (Frankie), Mary Jo (Joe Gauntner), Michael, (Dee), Stephen, Teresa Brick (George), Kate Amato, Rosemary Bellissimo (Jay), and Carol Tadsen. She was a much-loved aunt of 16 nieces and nephews, and step-grandmother of four.
Molly grew up in rural Ashtabula County (Rock Creek), where she loved playing in the fields and woods with her siblings. She attended Dyke Business College, the field in which she later worked. At home for many years due to health issues, she loved connecting with family and friends, gardening and flowers, and reading. She was a long-time member of her book club.
Molly found joy in small things – coffee with Ed in the morning, a new flower she’d gotten to bloom, a well-written book, talking to her family and friends. She was always quick to laugh and to forgive. She will be loved and missed always.
In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, Molly’s family would appreciate donations to the Knox County Humane Society. https://www.knoxhumanesociety.org/donate
