MOUNT VERNON — Knox County’s girls basketball teams will be road warriors when the postseason tips off next month.

Four of the county’s five teams will be on the road for their sectional openers. Only Danville will host a first-round game.

In Division I, Mount Vernon was the No. 32 seed and will play in the sectional semifinals at No. 25 Lancaster at 7 p.m. Feb. 15. The winner will play at No. 4 seed Dublin Coffman at 1 p.m. Feb. 18.

Three of the remaining four county schools will compete in the Division III central district. No. 18 East Knox was the highest seeded among the trio and will open tournament play in Canal Winchester against No. 6 Harvest Prep. The sectional semifinal game will be played at 7 p.m. Feb. 14.

Centerburg earned the No. 21 seed and will head to Milford Center for a sectional semifinal date with No. 3-seed Fairbanks.

Fredericktown drew the toughest opening-round matchup among the county’s Division III schools. The 24th-ranked Freddies will play top-seeded Worthington Christian at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Hogue Center.

In Division IV, Danville earned the No. 6 seed. The Blue Devils will host No. 14 Shekinah Christian in a sectional final at 7 p.m. Feb. 15.
