MOUNT VERNON — As of Oct. 21, Schilling Propane has acquired the assets of Wilhelm Bottled Gas.
Wilhelm customers received the news via a letter dated Oct. 24.
Citing client confidentiality, Brian Schilling declined to provide any further details.
Established in 1946, Wilhelm Bottled Gas was a family-owned business in Bangs. Alva D. Wilhelm Jr. acquired the business in 1990 from his uncle, Harry Wilhelm Sr. Alva ran the business along with his sons, Randy and Bradley.
Alva passed away in April 2020. Randy and Bradley died after an encounter with law enforcement in August.
