MOUNT VERNON — A dozen collection points and Mount Vernon postal workers are making it easy to donate to Food for the Hungry.
The Food For The Hungry Drive Day is set for Friday, Dec 9, with collection points open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers will be at each collection point collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations. The collection points include locations in Mount Vernon, Centerburg, Fredericktown, Danville, Howard/Apple Valley, and Gambier.
Mount Vernon: Walmart, Aldi, Lowes, Baker’s IGA, Lannings, Ohio Eastern Star/Gallagher center, The Knox Memorial (open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Centerburg: Hometown Market
Fredericktown: Bellstore
Danville: Hometown Market
Howard/Apple Valley: Red Rover Marathon
Gambier: The Village Market
If you live in Mount Vernon and can’t make it to a collection point on Friday, Dec. 9, no problem. Simply leave an envelope in your mailbox with your cash or check donation, or leave non-perishable food items with your mail.
Please write “Food For The Hungry Donation” on the outside of the envelope or on a note with your food. Checks should be made payable to Food For The Hungry.
Our wonderful Mount Vernon postal workers will pick up the envelopes and food as they come by to deliver your regular Friday mail. It’s that easy, and they won’t charge you any postage.
